The race
The Tour d'Afrique is a transcontinental race from Cairo (Egypt) to Cape Town (South Africa), crossing the African continent from north to south. It is considered the world's longest (and probably toughest) bicycle race.
After 10.500km and four months of cycling I could finish 2008th TDA on 2nd place overall. I could win 2 out of 8 sections and several stages. Maybe my biggest personal success is, that I can call me fastest EFI 2008 - as one out of 13 riders, who could ride "every fabulous inch" (EFI) from Cairo to Cape Town without ever using one of the support vehicles.
